The goals of the risk management program are to identify areas of potential risk; prevent injuries to patients, visitors, and employees; and to prevent or limit financial loss to St. Joseph Medical Center. The risk manager provides consultation on specific events; provides in-service education and training; and reviews insurance and liability issues.

SJMC requires all staff to report any incident that causes or has the potential to cause injury to any patient or visitor and that is inconsistent with the normal or expected care of the patient or operations of the Medical Center. Employees should report using the Incident Reporting System (IRIS) link, located on the St. Joseph Medical Center’s intranet.
